Mogg-y, what you are describing there seems to be what your aura is picking up first. Because it surrounds you, and often enters rooms before you, that's how you get 'those feelings' about atmospheres etc. I have heard about aura 'vampires'. These are generally negative people who's aura reflects this. When they get into the aura space of someone who is more positive, they can drain the energy. I have felt this many times, without the understanding.

To see the auras, we were taught to firstly sigh and drop to relax. Take the deepest breath in you can, hold it for as long as you can, then let it out slowly, letting all your muscles relax. You need then to have the person you are looking at against a relatively plain background (especially to begin with) The less fuss to advert our eyes, the better. You then either need to look at them (I usually look at their heads) or above them, or to one side of them, and defocus your eyes. I am pants at those hidden pictures, but that's the sort of thing you need to do. I tend to 'drift off' and 'woolgather'. I then see shimmers, which become colours.

The colours can have 3 different shades, and it also depends on thickness, and which you saw first as to meanings. At the beginning, it can look like heat haze, or just a white opaque 'mist'.

To get into the zone, Mia encouraged us to sigh and drop, then with eyes closed we have to picture a big black blank space. This can be what ever suits your imagination the best. It can be a tv screen, a blackboard, an empty theatre, etc. You have to then just watch, without any emotions, and expectations, and see what happens.

The readings I was succesfull with were relationships and work/career. Here you sigh and drop, look into the persons eyes, then imagine them on the stage, or tv, or where ever. As long as you have a good representation of the eyes, it doesn't matter what the rest looks like, even if it's a stick person.
For relationships, you imagine them in an empty room, and then watch what happens. Work, again was an empty room.

For going into the zone where you could meet your guide, you have to imagine a place of serenity. Like woodland, or the beach. You have to imagine yourself there. See your feet. Awaken all your senses one by one. Last is to feel the sand/moss, etc. You can then welcome your guide into your world. You can build it up as you want. It's your secret place. It is important that before you leave, that you close each sense down after, and finally, look at your feet to ground yourself.

This is where I struggle with a hubs who snores. I just can't switch off when the bed vibrates!! Rolling Eyes

Rowan, I for one, found that fascinting. I wish I had similar encounters, but alas, no. I do agree that we lose the ability as we get older. Too moulded by science/society/life,etc We just don't see unless we choose to look.

Rowan, your post was very interesting. I am really intrigued by the idea that perhaps life gets so full of other clutter (work, bills, worry, parties, school work) that psychic stuff gets "lessened" (I can't think of a suitable word to describe what I mean, maybe lessened isnt the right one)

We were once without internet access for a few weeks - and so instead of doing a bit at various websites, checking emails, and so on, I spent more time doing other things. I have a bit of a "thing" about angels and to a lesser extent tarot and it was surprising how much easier it was to tune in to my intuition during that time.

I am very interested in reincarnation- it makes a lot of sense to me.

I can certainly empathise with you Rowan, I started having experiences when I was around 15-16yrs old. I found they died down when my life started to settle, decent job, long term relationship etc. What really struck a note was you saying becoming more sociable......yep, I can relate to that. I was a real introvert at the start and I treated them with just the same swearing you used Shocked

Minkle you mentioned 'I then see shimmers, which become colours'. Before I would see a figure or whatever I would see a portion of the air break down into shimmering dots that would then form up into the image.
