I'm not well known for having a great taste in films, but I have recently watched a Japanese movie called Battle Royale. Set in a society on the verge of collapse the government decide that the only way to get respect from the youths is to randomly select a class and force them to kill each other on a deserted island over the space of three days. It was very violent but almost comically so. I was not sure whether it would be good or bad....but I kind of liked it.

What are you guys watching?

I'd just like to wish everyone a great Samhain this year and hope everyone has a great night.

Here's the place to divulge your plans!

I'm going to be heading to a flatwarming/hallowe'en party and then maybe heading out into ye olde towne of Dundee. As a scarecrow (hopefully pics will follow!).

What's everyone else doing?

Doctors have concluded that if you find the man in the coffee beans in 3 seconds, the right half of your brain is better developed than most people. If you find the man between 3 seconds and 1 minute, the right half of the brain is developed normally. If you find the man between 1 minute and 3 minutes, then the right half of your brain is functioning slowly and you need to eat more protein. If you have not found the man after 3 minutes, the advice is to look for more of this type of exercise ...

Well, I have been enjoying my new Ibanez so much over the last few months that I had an unexpected windfall and decided to try a new guitar to add to it.

I have been doing loads of research and have decided on the following. A G&L ASAT classic telecaster. From what I can tell they are way better than modern Fender's (the 'L' in G&L stands for Leo Fender - these were the last guitars he designed, customised etc before he died).

I am into the blues and blues rock etc, and the ...

Just in case anyone is interested, the next two weeks are the annual Mary King GhostFest up here in Edinburgh. The more notable 'stars' include Richard Wiseman and Richard Feelix!

I'm pretty sceptical as it is expensive, pretty much believer orientated and why anyone would want to see a second rate tour guide masquerading as a historian is beyond me, but each to their own.

Has anyone else noticed that by the roadside up and down the country you often see one single solitary shoe? I often wonder how exactly someone looses one single shoe on a road. Do people drive around with one foot hanging out of the passenger door, loose their shoe without noticing, completely oblivious to the fact they have lost it? What do they do with the other shoe? Donate it to charity? Hop around?

I would be interested to hear your thoughts on the subject
