Black Candles and Pigs Heads

We have had two complaints about an article wrote by Charles Walker in which he implied that black candle remains found in West Kennet Long Barrow were evidence of Black Magic rituals. I support these complaints and we have stuck up a disclaimer stating the views expressed in the article are those of the author, not Mysteriousbriatin. Many pagans use black candles, not just black magic practitioners.

I've read a lot of accounts on the Internet about persons using Ouija boards, holding seances and weaving incantations. Most of the times these accounts are given as "cautionary tales" about the dangers of "opening a gate to the other side" by dabbling with the occult.

How much of this modern folklore, how much Fundamentalist propaganda and how much truth? How much are we dealing with "real" entities and how much with the power of human mind?

I'll tell a firsthand ...

Black Magic In Clapham and Sussex

Within the first few years of Mysterious Britain going online, Charles Walker was kind enough to submit at article called Black Magic In Clapham and Sussex, based upon the events that were published in the book Demonic Connection http://www.mysteriousbritain.co.uk/occult/clapham.html . I don't want this part of the forum to focus on so called Black Magic or become some sort of witch hunt, instead I would prefer actual practitioners to make good use of it, but I would like to hear readers thoughts ...
