All metaphysical phenomena (all) are characteristics, traits, abilities or experiences of our spiritual nature, emanating from our souls.

The reasons we are so confused by the variety of metaphysical/spiritual phenomena is because religions, primarily Christianity, especially the Roman Catholic Church, banned most of our important spiritual abilities and traits as "heretical,’ “demonic,” or “no longer occurring.”

I've just completed a trilogy of books jointly entitled Awakening ...

This incident concerns a bedroom that had a bed with a metal head and foot board (which has since been sold so there is no opportunity to experiment with it). At the foot of the bed is a reasonale gap of a few feet then a desk up gainst the wall. Tucked under ...

Muncaster Castle in Cumbria is an interesting place to visit. As well as holding their Ghost Sits they have a limited number of Investigation Evenings each year where members of the public can spend the night learning how to investigate a haunting with members ...

In addition to the whole geotectonic thang, I've been thinking about the role that the types of rock play in haunted locations. It's purely speculative, but a cursory glance at a geological map of the UK reveals a surprisingly high amount of famous haunted places - Woodchester, Alton Towers, Galleries of Justics - set on a form of sandstone or similar. Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts as to whether this type of rock would have some influence on hauntings?

So I will be visiting Edinburgh for the weekend. There are several ghost tours there, 2 of which have caught my eye. City of the Dead tour http://www.blackhart.uk.com/ and the Auld Reekie tours. Both of these are supposed to be genuinely haunted (Mackenzie Poltergeist and South Bridge Poltergiest respectively) and stories online seem to confirm some pretty frightening and downright malevolent stuff.

Have any of you heard of or had any experience with either tour or ghost?

In the U.S. a couple of years ago I saw a program (I think it was the discovery channel). I am now in the UK and am looking for the site. I believe it was a cathedral that some people suspect is a portal to another place. I remember hearing something about the the way the stones and the inside of the place were laid out meant that only a certain tune or frequency would shift them and open up the portal.

I'm sorry it sounds pretty vague but I just I had forgotten all ...

When I first approach a ghost case, I can't help but think who the ghost might be, even though I don't subscribe to the ghosts are spirits theory or fully accept the stone tape theory. So why do we want to name our ghosts and how do we go about accurately attributing a haunting or individual ghost to an historic person?

But in the dark we can't distinguish colour, we need a light source to see colour.

It is hard to deny that there have been certain photographs connected to the paranormal that have inspired investigators and made people believe. Some of these famous pictures have now become unmasked as hoaxes, such as:

Cottingly Fairies, Nessie (hand), Big Foot film footage and some Crop Circles.

These hoaxers have admittedly aided the touism in certain areas, but what damage have they done if any?

Whilst on a case in an old house in Scotland near a ruined abbey, I experienced a memorable accustic event. It occured in a long stone barrel vaulted room at the bottom of the house, probably just below ground level. Whilst we we were covering this area my fellow investiagtors and I heard the unmistakable chanting and singing of monks. No mistake, no error, monks chanting and singing.

We hung around far longer than any sane person would have. Long enough to hear the ghostly voices stop. ...

In the early to mid parts of the 20th century spiritualists would try to convince people that the cheesecloth they were pulling from their mouths etc was really ectoplasm and con their audiences into believing they were watching a spirit manifest before them. Today popular television programmes and certain individuals try to convince people that dust caught on digital cameras is really the first signs of a manifestation. Why? I think the answer lies in the fact that people need something visual ...

From experience I would say that most nights spent in haunted locations are pretty quiet, once you've done a thorough site examination and identified the usually creaks and groans the building makes. But, have you had any strange experiences that you would like to share?

I have recently heard about a case where as well as few other interesting incidents, a stereo turned it's volume up very loudly by itself. Upon discussing this with Neil it turns out to be uncommon but not unheard of. The electronics in some stereos are not fully shielded and exposure to, yes you've guessed it....electromagnetic fields, have caused them to alter their own volume. Whether these are the same Experience Inducing Fields that have been reported to be connected with hauntings is ...

There seems to be a distinct split of opinion between paranormal investigators when it comes down to lighting conditions. Many investigators whilst staking out a haunted house will turn the lights off whilst others will keep them turned on. Personally I always leave the lights on. I don’t see how anyone can have scientifically controlled conditions if they turn all the lights off and as there are many witness testimonies that clearly show ghosts can be and are seen under normal lighting ...
