i seem to periodically come across a connection to "clocks" and the timings of death.

Many people report observing that at a specific time of death a clock in their family home will "stop working" at the time of death occured

im curious on other ppl's views on this and if anyone else has encountered this strange phenomenon ?

I think the phenomenon has its roots in those old, spring activated clocks that needed to be wound up regulary to function properly. If the owner fell ill he could not probably take good care of it anymore and of course death would put an end to any regular winding. The the hiers, going through their beloved's possessions would find the clock and casually note the hour. A lot goes through a grieving person's mind.
When violent deaths are taken into account there's always the strong possibility that the clock itself was subjected to a strong shoch, just like its owner.

i understand what you saying mauro,but i have heard from a number of people whom claim that their clocks worked fine (wether wound up or not) but ceased to work at the time a death occured in the family...not through neglect of the mechanics (which i can relate too).

im certainly not saying what you have wrote is unlikly,its more than possible this occurs as it makes perfect sense to me..but there are still cases with a possible connection to clocks and the paranormal...

if it is a true phenomenon,im interested in theories WHY ?

could it be symbolic for cease of "workings/body/fuction"

documentation for time of ones passing

simple way of spirit to validate the death...........etc etc...

I know what you are talking Angel and have similar stories many times, but I don't know any actual cases. I am not sure if it is something like an urban myth that this actually happens.

Isn't there a song that includes this type of tale,

"My Grandfathers clock was to tale for the shelf so it stood XXX years on the floor"

"xxx years without faltering, tick tock, tick tock, .........but it stopped short, never to go again when the old man died".

I can't remember the lyrics but it's something like the above.

cool,i havnt heard that one before,i know a couple of friends where this has happened to their family,i will ask them further and post their claims,i have also seen posts on other forums regarding this.i will see what i can find out,and get back to this post.

Thanks Angel, it would be great to hear of actual accounts and there details. It could help discover what really is going on.
