| A few months ago a picture of Homer Simpson was drawn out next to the Cerne Abbas giant to promote the Simpson's Movie. I saw the funny side of it but was shocked that somebody would have such little regard for one of Britains iconic images and a site of such historical importance.
Pagans were apparently in uproar threatening rain magic to wash Homer away.
One thing I noticed was that Mysterious Britain was suddenly getting over 20,000 session hits a day with readers wanting to know more about Cerne Abbas.
Has some good come out this stunt by raising peoples awareness of these sites or was it just a stupid prank that trod on the beliefs and feelings of Pagans worldwide. |

| | I saw it on the news when it happened. Just think what the visitors to the site must have thought...they arrive to see the Giant and have it spoiled by a big Homer. |

| The poor old Cerne Abbas giant has vanished!! Or more to the point a lack of available sheep has led to it being overgrown . So if anyone is planning to visit it anytime soon be ready for a let down. _________________ "Sometimes I just sit and think, and sometimes I just sit". |
