this is my opinion only....
i believe a medium is a person who acts like the middle man so to speak in the comminication from you to spirit..

the easiest way to describe this is to use an example of something simple and known to all..a telephone

you have two people wanting to communicate..you have the tool to do so ie..the telephone itself..but to connect the two you need the middle man in this case the phone line....

the phone line acts as the receptor..without this you can not connect...

this is the same scenario for a medium..you have a person here on the earth plane and that in spirit..the medium can be the inbetween connection for the messages etc to be crossed over..

a medium is also what some people know as "sensitive to spirit"..although i believe everyone has this ability at some part of their lives...sensitives /mediums have mastered this ability to use it for the communication in spirit for the betterment of others..most mediums are quite advanced in their abilities and have good control over the spirit communication they are receiving..

Ths is what Wikipedia has to say on Mediumship.

Quote :
The term "mediumship" denotes the ability of a person (the medium) to experience and/or to tell others about their experiences of contact with spirits of the dead, spirits of non-corporeal entities, angels, and/or nature spirits. In addition to experiencing these spiritual phenomena directly, the medium generally facilitates communication between non-mediumistic people and spirits who may have messages to share.

A medium may listen to and relate conversations with spirit voices, go into a trance and speak without knowledge of what is being said, allow a spirit to enter his or her body and speak through it, or may use some form of physical tool, such as a writing pad, to relay messages from the spirits those who wish to contact them.

thanks for that, personally i dont think the medium has to communicate between "NON MEDIUMISTIC" ppl only..wouldnt that mean that you cant ever give a communication to another medium or receive coms for yourself !!

also i dont believe spirit can "ENTER" someones body,Aura yes,but body Hmmmm.

I think the communicating for Non- mediumistic people is taking it too literally, I think it means they facilitate communication with the dead etc and therefore it is a way non-mediums can receive word.

But what is considered communication and how do they receive it. Do they have conversations, see images that need interpreting? Do they all receive this communication the same way and if not, are they all mediums? What are the differances if any?

I accept that colours, shapes etc could be used as a form of communication, but is that what is happening? I we are going to become to spirits why would we not communicate as we do now? What are the hinderances?

Could these images be something else and not a form of communication with another intelligent consiousness?

I often wonder whether clairvoyants or mediums etc actually do know what they experience. Are they interpreting it in a certain way because this is how they were taught, following a set of rules layed down by mediums long gone or more likely who are appearing on the television.

i can only comment on myself, but i was never "taught" that this is how it is and this is what you say or this is how you conduct yourself etc..i was given more understanding on what some things were that i didnt understand, but it is "us" the individual to interperate our experiences and coms.you will find that most sensitives/mediums will have different abilities/theories/experiences etc.

if their is something specific you wld like to ask me,im more than willing to answer
