I have been a member of ASSAP for many years now and they are a good organistaion to be associated with. The following introduction is straight from their website, http://www.assap.org/.

The Association for the Scientific Study of Anomalous Phenomena has been investigating the weird seriously (and the seriously weird) since 1981. Paranormal research and education are our main aims.

Though we seem to have spent a lot of time looking for ghosts in allegedly haunted houses (and other buildings), we do research into all anomalous and paranormal phenomena. Our main subject areas are psychic phenomena, UFOs, Forteana and earth mysteries though any kind of anomaly research is of interest.
