Halloween is just around the corner. Apart from the all the commercial Halloween gimmicks, are there any traditions that you follow or are upheld around where you live?

Hmm... well I sincerely hope that guising is still on the go (I'd love to teach my nephew Poe's "The Raven" for a poem to recite lol), but in this day and age, it's maybe a bit risky. Who knows? Are there any places in the UK that still do, or used to, practice guising (and I don't mean Trick or Treating- that defeats the purpose)?

Apparently The Witchcraft Act of 1735 prevented anyone from eating pork and pastries on Halloween. It was of course repealed in the 1950's, good thing too or the local bakers wouldn't be celebrating Samhain.
