| Here's a relatively interesting theory of possible UFO explanations. Most people have seen a sci-fi movie or programme that has organic intergalactic ships blasting around the cosmos; there are some who believe in the existence of lighter-than-air beasts with extraordinary speed and agility that either lives in our upper atmosphere or even beyond.
It has long been the view of broadminded scientists and many fictional sci-fi writers that life may exit on gas giants in the form of high flying creatures. Whether they have visited earth or we have a mysterious distant relative of the flat-fish getting randy with 747s is anyone’s guess.
Maybe we can tame them and use them for cheap carbon-free transatlantic flights? Pack your toothbrush! |

| Not sure how to reply to this Bligger. I would certainly pay good money to see you try and get some investment for your transatlantic passage company in the Dragons Den. I think, after several minutes of stunned silence and constipated looks from the tame millionaires you will get the following reply.
"It's only fair that I let you know where I stand. I will not be investing in your company, even though you only want £5 for an 80% share. This is why. Your plan anchors on finding these beasts which in all probability don't exist and even if they do, they are likely living on a gas giant planet not in this solar system. You then need to tame them not to attack the Earth, fondle passing 747's or eat the passengers. But the big problem is, if these creatures, if they exist, are lighter than air and need to be so to fly, how do we get them to ferry people who weigh considerably more than air? And that is why I am out."
Where can I buy a ticket? |

| Hey, Ian!
I remember watching afilm called flight of the dragons where it explained that the reason how dragons could fly with such small wings and big fat stomachs is because rather than producing methane, like us humans, they produce hydrogen gas; this also explains how they could breathe fire!
All we need is a real dragon; a couple of tins of paint and a few landing spots at major international airports and I think we're on to something! |

| I think that it's worth mentioning the atmospheric beast called Rods.
Rods gained their name from their rod-like shape when first detected by digital camera equipment (not with the naked eye) suspected as being an unknown species; some even sugeested from exteraterestrial in origin.
They appear to be anywhere from 12cm to 1m in length and consist of a thin membrane across their bodies which also doubles as their method of propulsion through the air.
Recent reports show the mystery of Rods to be explanable as mere optical illusions caused by small insect creatures being caught on digital camera. It would seem that digital camera are making a mockery of the paranormal community; first orbs now rods - what next Jane and Freddy perhaps? |

| I may be wrong but I think the 'creator' of flying saucers kenneth arnold believed that some UFO's were a lifeform living in the upper atmosphere.
the rods and orbs are a testament that belief can really be blind. It's still hard to understand why people fall for this, but there is money in it if no credibility - I recall the SKY programme on Rods - I think it might have even lasted an hour - and people got paid for it! |

| I have heard of these phenomena. The "Sky-jellyfish" is aan interesting prospect, but I think there are several factors arguing against this. I seem to remember a discussion on another site.
As for Rods. They are, always have been and always will be insects buzzing past the camera, as far as I'm concerned. I don't think much of the theory of Orbs either. _________________ Seek for answers in the mundane, with hope for answers in the fantastic
