When you say Exorcisms do you mean ones done by the church or ones using old traditions like witchcraft ?

At our old house in Oldham we did a house cleansing using a ritual described in a book by a chap called Robert Skelton, i think that was his name. Previous to this we seemed to have quite a few things knocking around and only one of them was what you could call freindly (the old lady that used to stoke the dog). The other ones used to make the floorboards creak outside the bedroom, occasionally shake the bed, move things that were later found in unexplicable places and make the place a bit......unwelcoming.

Now you may think creaking floorboards are just the house settling down except that they creaked in a manner suggesting that someone was pacing in front of the bedroom door. Not only that, when we moved bedrooms the creaking moved too. The area of Oldham we lived at the time was riddled with old mine shafts, this could have had some bearing on the case. If the mines were graduly becoming unsteady, movement i assume would occure at ground level.

Anyway, after the cleansing everything stopped for a while. When it came back we did it again and after the second cleansing I cant remember a re-occurance.

Lee.

To be honest Ian, I'd rather investigate other peoples houses and have a good nights sleep in my own.
However i dont condone people going to alleged haunted locations and having a go without the express permission of the owner. Remember the Landlord of the Red Lion saying that some American woman had tried to banish the ghost of the lady down the well ? so he kicked her out and barred her for life Smile
