| Ian, a work mate recently went to a place called Lud's Church, Its a natural chasm in the peak district. He showed me some photo's he'd took and told me there was a King Arthur legend attached it it but couldnt remember what. I looked at the pics and straight away thought of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. He said that sounded familiar so at lunchtime i nipped on the net and googled it. Sure enough Sir Gawain was supposed to have faced the Green Knight for the second time (first being at camalot) at Luds Church. But further investigations revealed that Frier Tuck was supposed to have performed religious ceremonys there for Robin and his men see link http://www.robinhoodloxley.net/mycustompage0045.htm scroll to bottom of page. There is also a reference to a 15th Century religious reformation group called the Lollards that met there in secret Lollard tale here http://www.cheshireghostsandhauntings.org.uk/Staffordshire%20Ghosts%20and%20Hauntings/Staffordshire.htmlNearby is a pool called Doxey Pool which has a mermaid legend attached to it. When i saw his pic of this place it sort of reminded me of Dozemary Pool in Cornwall. Now the only problem with adding this to the main site is its in Staffs, and Staffs isnt up, maybe put it in as a featured site ? his pics are very good. | |

| It all sounds really good Lee. We can put it up a featured site and also it can go straight into the gazetteer on the new version of the site. | |

| Got 2 good pics of Luds Church and a pic of Doxey pool, doxey pool pic has been cropped a bit by Martin to remove his wife from the pic, i have also found our pics of Filey Brigg, downside is they are huge, nearly 5 meg a peice so i'm going to have to put them all on a disk and post them to you, so they'll need some shrinking. I no longer have photoshop so i cant do it . Our other roving picture man Tim is on holiday down in Dorset this week, i gave him a list of places to visit for pics He said he'd do his best to visit them all... good man. | |

| As I said before I have an embyonic article con Florence Cook, Katie King and their relationship with Sir William Crookes. If you are interested in putting that on the website I can put myself to work to add the finishing touches (mostly biography and the earlier part of Florence's life). | |

| Ian, in the next couple of days expect to find dropping through you doorhole another CD of photos, already burned said cd and then looked at the website, you can disgard quite a few of them as they are already on there But new stuff includes From England, Aldworth Church Yew Tree Oxfordshire. Irton Hall or is it Gosforth hall ? & hidey hole Oak Tree Cumbria. Muncaster Castle Cumbria, outdoor shots only. The George Inn in Wiltshire (and pic of Tank Crossing warning sign just for your amusement). And in Scotland, Moray. Brodie Castle. Rodneys (Rottneys) Stone. Sueno's Stone. I found my box of old photos whist trying to clear back bedroom for arrival of mini-me and went on a scanning rampage. Also included are pics of you, me, dan and craig from the 1st and 2nd Great Glastonbury Expeditions, however these are not for general use as we all look about 15 years old plus your bermuda shorts and para boot combo are terrible | |
