| We get a few e-mails to Mysteriousbritain from people wanting to join in investigations and asking where they can go to spend an evening in a haunted house. There are many places throughout the country that host paranormal evenings. Muncaster Castle in Cumbria is an interesting place to visit. As well as holding their Ghost Sits they have a limited number of Investigation Evenings each year where members of the public can spend the night learning how to investigate a haunting with members of the actual investigation team, this being Dr Jason Braithwaite and usually Ian Topham from Mysteriousbritain. They also do similar evenings at the Rum Story in Whitehaven. We must stress that neither Ian nor Jason receive any payment for these evenings which also helps keep the costs down. For more information regarding the Rum Story or Muncaster Castle and their evenings please contact those venues themselves. The website links are below: http://www.muncaster.co.uk/web2006/vigils/vigils.htmlhttp://www.rumstory.co.uk/ghosthunt.shtmlAdditional OpportunitiesJason and Ian also has a few other cases available that they can allow othere people to attend with them. These are stately cases and the information regarding the experiences there are not common knowledge. They probably won’t be able to arrange nights at these sites which are situated in Cumbria until mid spring at the earliest, but if you would like to be contacted when dates are available you can reply to this topic in which case we will already have your e-mail address or you can drop Mysteriousbritain an e-mail at info@mysteriousbritain.co.uk stating you would be interested in attending a paranormal investigation night with Jason and Ian. These nights would also have a small charge but it would be kept to a minimal and used just to cover expenses. | |

| I've never been on a Ghost Hunt. I like the idea of a haunted castle so I'll check Muncaster out. When you manage to arrange nights in the other locations send me a PM. | |

| I can certainly recommend the Rum Story and Muncaster evenings. They tend to be good little social events as well as (hopefully) being entertaining and informative. I'll let you know when we get the other cases up and running Don. | |

| I'll go where the cases are to investigate, but it's just lucky that there are a few buildings we are looking here that are willing to let the public in and have these investigation nights. It's great meeting people generally interested in the subject. I know the venues charge but at least we don't get paid so helps it keeps costs down. | |

| Sure, you can PM me a list. No promises though. It all depends upon how active the cases are, whether I can get the them and if I can fit them in. | |

| If your interested in the type of things Muncaster and Rum Story do then it is best to contact them directly and ask about dates. I dare say we'll be doing something with them around Halloween, we usually do anyway. | |

| Agricola, you might want to consider joining an organisation like ASSAP if you want to get acitively investigating. | |

| I should pull my finger out and join. Are they very 'medium-centric'? A lot of societies are and it does make me look at them in a 'new light' (I guess that's the diplomatic way of putting it). | |

| You don't have to join ASSAP, it's just one I got involved in nearly 20 years ago. The SS in ASSAP stands for the Scientific Study which it does try to live up to. However it holds no corporate views and hence is open to anyone who wants to join regardless of their personal opinions on theories. I was lucky to find a group of like minded investigators fairly early on. Just avoid the ones who you feel you couldn't work closely with. | |
